How Does The US Militaries Chain of Command(Rank Structure) Work?

How does the US Military Chain of Command(Rank Structure) work? Like a Pvt reports to his Sgt but who does the Sgt report to and so on? And how does the squads, platoons, brigades, etc work? Thanks!
