I spotted an odd looking insect in my house and I can not figure out what it is?

At first it was hanging from the ceiling, and then I saw it in the tub hanging from the side. It was a few cm long and it had a diamond shaped body with a red end that moved it like a worm. The body looked like a cocoon and the red part looked like a worm coming out of it. It moved very quickly as well.
